International accolade for Invercargill motel
Good old fashioned southern hospitality has earned an international accolade for Invercargill’s Tower Lodge Motel.
Tower Lodge Motel has been named as one of the top 25 bargain hotels in the South Pacific region by TripAdvisor, the world’s largest travel website, in its 2012 Traveller’s Choice Awards.
Owners Ray and Dawn Clark were thrilled with the recognition.
“It really is proof that Southland’s reputation for friendly hospitality does reach all around the world,” Mrs Clark said.
“The impression visitors have of our province is just so important and continues to have an impact long after they leave as they interact with fellow travellers – reputation is everything in this industry and it’s always nice to have your hard work acknowledged.”
Now in its tenth year, the annual TripAdvisor awards are voted by travellers themselves and based on their opinions and reviews.
Tower Lodge was ranked 11th of the top 25 bargain hotels in the award category, which included resorts from travel destinations in Fiji, Samoa and Australia.
TripAdvisor for Business president Christine Peterson said the awards were judged with the help of millions of travellers around the globe.
“From the best bargain hotels to best luxury hotels, remarkable service, value and quality are hallmarks of our Traveller’s Choice winners,” she said.
